In MAY-2020 the boy was examined for headaches and right eye pain arising from APR-2020, see below for details, accompanied by deterioration of the vision of the right eye. After the headache subsided, the vision returned to normal. As part of the examination done in MAY-2020 MRI of the brain was performed, changes were found on the background of neurofibromatosis type 1 – Foci of Altered Signal Intensity supratentorialy and in the area of the posterior fossa of the skull. Cerebral ventricles are slender, hydrocephalus is not present, optic chiasm and optic nerve area without pathology. In contrast to the initial examination performed in 2016, the eccentrically placed T2/Flair hypersignal lesion in the brainstem is present on the right. The lesion is contoured, without diffusion restriction, no contrast was provided. According to the oncologist, the finding looks more like a glioma, currently not clinically significant, monitoring is necessary. Control brain MRI with contrast agent and MRS 6 months apart were recommended to exclude expansion growth activity. The difficulties of the boy were not explained by the examination, they are not related to the lesion in the brainstem. The headaches are suspiciously migraine, the migraine is anamnestic in the patient’s mother until the first pregnancy.
